Also integrated into this program are eight weeks 24 shifts of precepted clinical orientation. You will be supported by unit leadership, educators and advanced practice nurses during your time in the program. As a member of the program, you will complete one week of general hospital introduction, new employee orientation and training on the electronic medical record system. The new-graduate nurse will work the same schedule as their preceptor, with efforts made to accommodate their desired shift as much as possible.
The new-graduate nurse will be eligible to apply for transfer to specialty internships or other divisions after completion of the residency program and one year of experience in their residency unit. Utilizes leadership skills in overseeing and assisting members of the healthcare team to prioritize and resolve issues.
Maintains awareness of ongoing performance improvement studies within the unit; assists with the implementation of corrective actions determined necessary. Demonstrates a level of professional practice that supports the delivery of appropriate care and positive working relationships.
Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reviewing current literature, attending in-service meetings, and workshops. Additional Information: Positions may be available within all clinical areas of City of Hope.
Shifts may include both days and nights and may be both 8 and 12 hours in duration based upon final assignment.
